Mark Dolce
I was raised overseas and have been coming to Cody, Wyoming all my life. My
work now hangs in Open Range Images Fine Art Photography coop as of April
2007. My Bachelor Fine Art Photography was awarded in 1983 from Arizona
State University. I attained my Master Art in Journalism form the University of
Arizona in 1992. I have been making fine art photographic images since 1977.
Most of my professional career was in Arizona working for community
newspapers. I have exhibited my work in several galleries, institutions and
public venues.

My work is in a contemporary vein and influenced by the life I have spent in
open spaces of the western United States. I have chosen to interject,
assemble, rearrange and combine ideas using images to raise questions
through an exchange of personal experience and introspection regarding
societal values. I sometimes pick up random objects and hold them to be
photographed. I sometimes make photographs with post card images of an
iconic nature held in my hand while standing in a specific location - making
room for association. I made a specific arrangement of objects and
photographed as in the Ambient Series- a biographical body of work based on
my spiritual connection to the desert. These exercises reveal and propose new
meaning of life on a level of absurdity making sense only to ones who can see
the value in things less widely circulated.

More of my work can be viewed on www.absolutearts.com/portfolios/k/
